How to maintain a gas range?

Gas ranges are one of the most popular choices when it comes to cooking appliances, durable, powerful, and elegant, they can really be a highlight in your kitchen. Because these appliances are used so often and become an integral part of daily life it’s useful to know how to take care of them so you can get the most out of your gas range.

If you take good care of your gas range it can last up to 15 years or more, giving you back what you invested and more!

Get it installed by professionals

The first step to getting your gas stove to last is to make sure you bring it home the right way. Having professional gas range installations means you don’t have to worry about gas lines and other installation issues.

A good installation prevents future issues and ensures you can start using your appliances with no worries.

Repairs too

Getting qualified technicians like Maydone to help with your range hood and other appliance repairs is the best way to fix issues with your appliances. Make sure you get people that know what they are doing, genuine repair parts, and good repair work.

Clean your mess daily

Cleaning up spills and food from your gas range hood will help the appliance last longer, keeping the surface of the appliance in a good state and preventing incidents with debris and the cooking flames

It also maintains your kitchen cleaner and makes it easier to cook when you need to, a bit of daily cleaning can go a long way when it comes to your gas range.

Don’t use abrasive products

One of the things to avoid when cleaning range hoods are abrasive products that can chip the finishing of the appliance. Use specific products or natural detergents to clean, as well as rags and soft sponges, avoid metal sponges.

Deep clean monthly

It is advisable that once a month you do a deeper clean of your range hood, lift the range, clean the grates by soaking in soap or vinegar, wash off, and put them together again. This helps keep the grates clean, and free of debris and oil accumulation, preventing heat damage as well.

Clean the burner channels

These are the tubes responsible for moving the gas supply to your burner, they are usually under the gas cap and can be problematic if they get clogged up. You can clean them with a pipe cleaner, and avoid cleaning it with flammable things like toothpicks.

Check your stove and gas lines yearly

Getting your stove checked out by professionals will give you peace of mind and keep your appliance running smoothly. Get an expert to run a diagnosis on your gas range and see if you need to change any part like gas lines or others.

He went above and beyond and even fixed a wobbly door under my sink. It’s always a pleasure to find a reliable and efficient service, and I would absolutely use Alex in the future!

  • Working in a veterinary clinic - we understandably go through a lot of laundry. Our washer was out of commission and within a very short period of time, Igor not only diagnosed the problem but had it fixed. He was efficient and easy to work with.
